Married At First Sight: Someone is in LOVE
I woke up feeling so ECSTATIC over Married At First Sight Season 4 results. We have two AHHMAZING couples who are heading in the right direction. YES, Lilly Vilchez and Tom Wilson AND Sonia Granados and Nick Pendergrast chose to stay married on decision day. Yesterday I chatted with Sonia about this season of Married At First Sight and her hubby, Nick. Today I am chatting with little Miss Lilly. Or should I say Mrs. Wilson. 😉
Lilly Talks Married At First Sight and her hubby, Tom
Me: First, how hard was it to keep your marriage secret all season?
Lilly: I’ve got to say that was by far the hardest thing throughout this whole process with keeping it a secret at the end. I mean I wanted to shout out to the world “Oh my God! Tom and I stayed married!” and I couldn’t do that. I had to wait until the very last episode for the world to know that we decided to stay together.
Me: I remember that struggle. Especially when people are tweeting to you doubting you’ll make it. I just wanted to be like “WE DID MAKE IT!!!” lol. How did it feel watching the episodes back?
Lilly: It’s so surreal watching the episodes and seeing myself on TV. It’s like ‘Wow, I did that!’ I still can’t believe that I married a stranger. I also was able to learn a lot of traits and certain attitudes I have that I need to work on.
Me: Girl, you and me together. 😛 Did you have a favorite part?
Lilly: I would have to say that my favorite part by far has to be all the support we have received from the fans. They only know us from a TV show and to see them spread so much love to two people they don’t know is amazing. It goes to show you how many wonderful and good people are out there that just want two people to be happy.
Me: Yes, the #MAFSFAMILY is amazing. I love our fans! 🙂 …Did you have a least favorite part?
Lilly: My least favorite part — and I can say I’ve hated this — is the fact that I’ve had to keep my marriage a secret for so long. Also, not being able to do things any normal couple does like go out on date night to the movies or a restaurant, not being able to post recent pics of our crazy shenanigans….
Me: I hear ya! …How about a surprising part?
Lilly: I know you guys didn’t get to see this on the show but I was so worried that Tom wouldn’t be there for me during my shoulder surgery. But I was so pleasantly and happily surprised when he dropped everything to take care of me when I needed it the most. Right there I knew I could count on him for life. When I say he dropped everything I mean it! He didn’t work a whole week because I couldn’t get up on my own. He helped me go to the bathroom, he cooked for me, made sure I had everything I needed — hell, he even helped me shower! I was in so much pain and couldn’t do anything on my own. He stepped up to the plate and was the best team player on earth! Then and there I knew I could fall madly in love with this man.
Me: Aww! What’s the first thing you’re going to do tomorrow when you can be out and about as a MARRIED couple?
Lilly: Actually sit next to my husband in a public area and have some PDA!! Lol
Me: Ha! You and your PDA! You two can barely keep your hands off each other! 😉 Anything you want to share with our amazing #MAFSFAMILY (as I like to call our awesome die-hard fans).
Lilly: Always root for love! That’s what the show is …about the potential of finding real love and we should always root for that! This isn’t an easy process for any of the participants, at the end of the day we all had wonderful intentions and hopes of finding “THE ONE” and we need to always remember that. The show is going to have drama but it’s not about drama it’s about real people in real life situations wanting love.
Me: At this point, Lilly would you say you’re def in love with Tom?
Lilly: Yes! I am in LOVE with my husband. Don’t think it’s been easy breezy though! We have gone through hell and back and ultimately that is what’s making our love grow and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us!
Me: AWW, you two always make me gush. Like seriously. Lilly, serious question…where y’all gonna live? Bus or apartment? 😜
Lilly: We live in a townhome and Tom still owns the bus. We use it as a vacation home.
Me: Smart! I really like the bus. I think it’s super clever! What’s one of the biggest things you learned about yourself after doing MAFS … Would you do it all over again?
Lilly: Looking back at myself I just realize how much I put work first and put my needs to the side and stopped living. I became so consumed in thinking of tomorrow that I forgot to live for today. Being with Tom helped me realize that! Yes, it’s great to work and to have drive but it’s also amazing to live every day to the fullest and have no regrets. So would I do this all over again? Yes! In a heartbeat! I have absolutely no regrets about this whole process. I learned so many things about myself and have grown so much as a person that I wouldn’t take it back for anything in the world.
I cannot get enough of Tom and Lilly. I actually have to show ya’ll what Lilly and I were texting earlier (screenshot of our convo below). She is so cute! Lilly is the real deal … !!! And, yes. I have ghetto T-Mobile. I switched & we save literally hundreds a year now! 😛
One more thing! Next week there will be Married At First Sight’s REUNION show on Tuesday, November 1st at 9pm EST. I am crossing my fingers and toes and eyes and anything that’ll cross that Sonia & Nick and Lilly & Tom will have good news to share with us! SO many times in the past the reunion shows have been heartbreaking to watch. *PRAYING*
What’d ya think of this season of Married At First Sight? How do you feel about Lilly and her decision to stay married to Tom?
P.S. Sam Role From Married At First Sight Season 3 has a pretty big smile and a nice glow these days. Catch up with her and what’s going on in her life here.
What does it take to be a good wife? God knows I had some trouble figuring that out. My past threatened my future, but I learned how to stop that from happening. If you’re struggling in the dating world — or if you’re engaged, a newlywed, a long time married veteran, you will feel a lot better about your relationship after reading about mine in my new book, Wifey 101: Everything I Got Wrong After Meeting Mr. Right!

I don’t care if they say they are still together at the end of the six weeks. I still get nervous to know if they are still together today! Yikes!!! And the previews don’t help!! LOL. The past few seasons have made me nervous because you think they are gonna be happily ever after, then come back like, NOPE! Vanessa and Tres was a big shock 🙁
I hear ya! I thought Tres and Vanessa were a match made in heaven. I was heart broken FOR them. lol :-/
Jamie I love this your insight on MAFS, you get all the goods girl
haha, thanks girl!
Too cute. Who says T-Mobile is ghetto?? 😀
I loved that the couples got together as couples after their decisions. In our church, we call it “discipling”, but all of our married couples (even us–we lead the church but our lives are an open book) have other couples to lean on, learn from, relate to. As much as we believe marriage is for life, it would have been so difficult to stay together without other couples to help us through it all: older ones with wisdom & younger ones with fresh eyes.
Like Nick said, nobody can know what you’re going through like those of you who have been through this process. Super excited for all y’all. 🙂
lol! It’s so true how we need each other to lean on and support each other. 🙂
But the reunion show previews… they better just be the worst teasers ever. Tom and Lilly I’m sure are still together today. Nick and Sonia? They better be!!
I hear ya!
