I’m A New Mommy

The absolute BEST thing that has ever happened to me was becoming a mommy. I’ve wanted to be a mother for SO long! I’m not going to lie though, it’s also one of the most difficult, life changing roles. And when I say it’s difficult I mean it is burning eyes tired, dirty laundry all over the place, messy poop explosions when you least expect it, and complete FATIGUE from caring for my mostly happy, but sometimes fussy baby. We are exclusively nursing and that’s a whole new level of pain (yes, pain!) and challenges – especially when you have to introduce the bottle because you are due to be back at work or you need like four hours – just four hours – to yourself without a baby attached to your chest.

Bottles Galore! Which One Is Right For Your Baby Though

If you looked in my cupboard right now you’ll see a whole array of bottles…I feel like I have every brand under the sun because my daughter, who by the way is only 3 months old, is quite picky. So when about a week ago I got an email from Philips Avent asking if I’d like to try their new Natural bottle that is which has a super soft nipple that’s perfect for nursing or bottle feeding babies, my eyes lit up. At this point, I’ll try anything! After trying this bottle, I decided to partner with Philips Avent and help spread the word about the Natural bottle.

Philips Avent Natural Is Great For Nursing Moms

When I was pregnant with our daughter, my hubby and I registered for a certain brand of bottles. My sister in law used them so I figured they’re probably the best. I got them in all sizes, every stage nipple, all the little cleaning accessories, etc. Fast forward to when my daughter arrives and it’s time for me to go back to work…my daughter wants nothing to do with these bottles. I tried everything from the way I held her while feeding her, to making sure the milk was the right temp, but nope! My daughter just doesn’t like this bottle. Here’s a little piece of advice for expecting mommies that I wish someone had told me – don’t go all out with one type of bottle (or any baby product for that matter) until you know your baby takes to it well. Also, if you are exclusively nursing you’re gonna really wanna pay attention to this next advice because it has been a life saver for me: Philips Avent Natural bottle. This bottle has been a life changer for me (and my hubby and in laws who babysit my daughter while I’m at work).

Philips Avent Natural bottle is made with the most skin-like nipple. When I felt it for the first time I couldn’t believe how real it felt. I realize the trick for breastfed babies is that they need a nipple that closely mimics and resembles their momma’s nipple so they aren’t confused. Philip’s new Natural bottle has a wide breast-shaped nipple with flexible spiral design and little “comfort petals” which allow for a natural latch that is similar to how the baby would latch on to her momma which makes it a lot easier to interchange breast and bottle-feeding. And the unique anti-colic system was designed to reduce colic and discomfort by venting the air away from your baby’s tummy.

My Baby Prefers Philips Avent Natural Bottle

Long story made short, my sweet girl guzzles this milk down and she isn’t fussy from gas and discomfort after her feeding. The best part is that she actually takes this bottle without spitting it out in a fussy rage because she is starving but doesn’t recognize the bottle as food. There is no nipple confusion since the nipples closely mimics my breast. My Gracie gets a belly full of milk and sleeps more sound. I definitely recommend the Philips Avent Natural bottle to mommas who plan on or are breastfeeding, or bottle-feeding mommas looking for a bottle which is easy for their baby to latch on to.

What does it take to be a good wife? God knows I had some trouble figuring that out. My past threatened my future, but I learned how to stop that from happening. If you’re struggling in the dating world — or if you’re engaged, a newlywed, a long time married veteran, you will feel a lot better about your relationship after reading about mine in my new book, Wifey 101: Everything I Got Wrong After Meeting  Mr. Right!
