Seven Year Switch: Drama, Drama, Drama … And A Lot Of Sadnesss

This is Kelsey and Dustin … They aren’t married, but they are acting like they are. Yikes!

Seven Year Switch Drama

To stay or not to stay? That’s what these Seven Year Switch couples were trying to decide last week. If you forgot, (but how the heck could you forget, right!??) our spouses met each others’ experimental husbands and wives face-to-face. The drama!

And the first thing I have to say is, the jealousy rising up in Aaron is a little surprising. Could these be emotions I see peeking through? Those pesky things you said you didn’t have!!!??? Hmmm… well, the experts did say that a little bit of jealousy is a good thing…so let’s hope this translates to some positive changes for Heather!

And speaking of jealousy— Liliya doesn’t seem at all happy to hear that her husband has been spending time in the hot tub with Heather…who she admits is prettier in person. (I’ve never met Heather in person, but she must be STUNNING because – if you ask me – even through the T.V she looks beautiful!) Looks like no one told her that sometimes Switch Therapy can get a little hot and steamy. It’s all apart of the process…right?

***Whisper*** {FYI, this is precisely why I could never do this experiment!}

Seven Year Switch Pure Sadness

In another part of town, tension reached a whole new level! It seems to me that Dustin was baiting James and I’m not sure I think it’s fair. He basically told him that Kelsey is looking for divorce and you could see the pain all over James’ face as he listened to Dustin go on and on. It has to hurt for James to have to hear these things from someone other than his spouse. I feel so sorry for him!

Meanwhile, it was like Jaclyn and Kelsey were seconds away from going to blows at their meeting. My jaw ACTUALLY dropped when Kelsey told Jaclyn that Dustin doesn’t “give a f*** about” her. I mean, WHAT???!!!

I don’t know what I would’ve done if I had to sit across from someone and hear that. I mean…sheesh! I now have a whole new level of respect for Jaclyn because I’m not sure Doug and I would’ve made it to the next episode if I had to listen to that.

Ay yi yi.

At that point, it seemed like everybody’s world had been turned upside down and it had only been 15 minutes! But then, it was time to try to put the pieces back together.

Who’s Married To Who

It’s like the switched spouses are becoming teammates in this thing. They’re hurt, frustrated and devastated and they have to now be there for each other. Even Dustin and Kelsey seemed to feel bad when they got filled in on what happened at the meetings. Finally some signs of remorse from these two!

With only two days left in the experiment, it’s time to figure out how they’re going to prepare to go back to their marriages with something to show for this last couple of weeks.

In my opinion, the switched couple that have had it the hardest is definitely James and Jaclyn and I really feel for them. James is obviously heartbroken and Jaclyn has to be the person being hit with the most pain right now. Having to question everything about your entire relationship on national television is absolutely heartbreaking and I know because I’ve been there.

Could you imagine?! (No wayyyy!!! This is an old promo we did with Cortney and Jason for season 1 of Seven Year Switch)

The irony in this, though, is that the real magic didn’t’ come into this experience for her until she broke down. She completely let her guard down and started to open up to James about how she feels and what do you know? She found a breakthrough.

She realized in that moment and later on, when she spoke to Charles, that she’s not getting what she deserves from this relationship. And the real lesson? Up until now, she hadn’t ever thought about what she’s actually worth. (So sad, but I feel like so many women can relate. I know I’ve definitely been there!) :-/

I love the moment when Charles told her that she’s worthy of love just as she is. Those simple words are so powerful and I think it’s really sinking in for Jaclyn that understanding this has been the entire point of this experiment.

Whew! This show gets better and better— on every level— every week!

As for tonight, we’ll get to see these couples switch back and try to get a handle on where they are in their marriages now that their worlds have been completely rocked to the core.

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait!

It’s getting down to the wire— guys, there’s only 2 episodes left!!! What do you think so far? Do you still think you know what’s going to happen? (I predict at least one divorce, but I’m not naming names – yet. Let me know what you think in the comments!

What does it take to be a good wife? God knows I had some trouble figuring that out. My past threatened my future, but I learned how to stop that from happening. 1. hey there – I went back and re-read because I’m not sure what you mean? I still couldn’t figure out where you think I incorrectly say ‘Charles comforts Jaclyn?’ Either way, I think both Charles and James were helpful for Jaclyn in realizing her worth this last episode. It was so refreshing! 🙂
