This is what I look like BEFORE I have any eye makeup on.

Makeup Tutorial: Long, Thick Lashes With (Or Without) Falsies

Ever since the first episode of Married At First sight I’ve had women tweeting, facebook messaging and Instagram commenting to me: “How do you get your lashes so thick and long?!”

Truth be told, we have no makeup artists when we film the show so I did all of my own makeup – and lashes. (I learn a lot of tricks from the pros when I go on shows like The Today show with Kathy Lee and Hoda, Dr. Oz, Good Morning America, etc. Every time I sit in the makeup/hair chair I ask “What’s your favorite product to use?” or “What’s one piece of advice you SWEAR by?” I mean these people work on BIG TIME celebs and make them look flaaahhhhless. They definitely know what they’re doing!

I’ve learned a lot of great tips and tricks this way. (Never be too scared to be a nerd and ask questions – nine times out of ten you’ll learn something super valuable…and the person you’re asking will feel flattered you’re looking for tips from them.)

Another truth be told, I did wear extenstions (I went to a salon to have individual lashes glued on) for the first season of Married At First Sight. For Married At First Sight:The First Year I had no extensions. I took them off because my real lashes were becoming SO damaged and thinning. This is when I mastered the false lashes (because I wore them in almost episode…there were only a couple eps where I only had mascara on.) ….I share this because I believe in full disclosure. 🙂

And this is the After. Amazing what a little makeup can do! 🙂

Sooo, what are the tricks I’ve learned for lashes??!

Well, every year I like to give my most loyal FRANS (fans and friends) who subscribe to my email list a little Christmas gift. Last year it was a fast and easy hair tutorial. This year I made a makeup tutorial video for lashes filled with lots of tips and tricks. I sent it to you all on Christmas day. (No joke, I had a tech malfunction and ended up sending THREE emails! It wasn’t until  the third that I finally figured out how to include the darn video – yikes! So sorry about that!  …It just goes to show I really do write all of my own blogs and emails for you all. I’m not the most tech-savvy. *Insert that monkey emoji that covers his eyes with his hands here! 🙂

  • They’re Real Mascara by Benefit. Luuuurve this stuff!

  • Stila ‘Stay All Day’ Waterproof Eyeliner. I swear this stuff NEVER runs and it really does stay all day. Hallelujah!

  • Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara. Always use waterproof on your bottom lashes. Waterproof doesn’t smudge and give you the back under eye look …No one wants to look like they got punched in both eyeballs. 😛 P.S. This is only $3 bucks and some change! Cha-Ching!

  • Kiss False Lash Extensions. There are a gazillion different false lashes out there. I like this brand because they are less expensive but just as great of quality. Below is the style ’03’ which is a very “natural” looking lash (and it’s what I used in my video).

  • Duo DARK eyelash adhesive. This blends right in with your eyeliner and gives your false lashes a seamless transition with your real lashes.

And now without further ado, here is my Long, Thick Lashes Makeup Tutorial video! I hope you enjoy!

Let me know if you like the video. If you’re interested in more I can definitely make more makeup tutorials for you guys – just let me know!

P.S. For those of you begging me about  my choker … here’s a link for that, too! 🙂 Love you all!!
