Not all dog food is considered equal. We all know this to be true. But have you ever given your dog food that they literally think is a bowl full of treats? I just recently began giving AvoDerm dog food to my girls Foxy and Lady. They seem to think it’s a bowl of treats and gobble it right up!

Choosing the right dog/cat food can be tough, especially if your pup/kitty has allergies. I’ve always wanted to give the best food to my little fur babies. When I came across AvoDerm I was quite shocked that one of the ingredients is avocado — because wait a minute, isn’t avocado bad for a pup?

I did a little research and found that it is just a common misconception that avocados are toxic for dogs. There are actually numerous studies that have shown it is only the seed and skin of an avocado that contain persin. Persin should be avoided, but the meat of the avocado is quite healthy for your fur baby. Despite the rumors, avocados are a natural superfood, full of nutrients, crude fiber, and contain vitamins A, C, and E, as well as B6. They are rich in folate, potassium, niacin, essential fatty acids crucial to good skin, and coat health, and they also help to promote overall health. These fruits (yep, they’re considered fruit) are actually very nutritious for your pup!

The avocado meal and oil used in the AvoDerm Natural pet products comes from the meat of the fruit and does not contain the leaves, bark, skin or pit of the fruit. The oil is extracted from ripened fruit in which the meat pulp has been separated from the skin and the pit.

Here are some reading materials that shed light on the topic for dog lovers:x

Your dog’s skin and coat are the most obvious indicators of his overall health. So if you’re looking for natural, healthy dog food filled with great ingredients you should give Avoderm a try! The company guarantees you’ll see a softer, shinier coat for your dog in six weeks.

I have partnered with AvoDerm to increase awareness and they’re offering my followers $5 off a bag of AvoDerm dog food! Trust me, it’s worth it! My pups love it and I love their shiny coats! Let me know what you and your fur baby think after you give it a try! 🙂

P.S. The first ingredient listed in the beef flavored bag of Avoderm is Beef. The second is beef meal followed by healthy veggies and fruit. That’s the way it should be. I really do love this dog food!

P.S.S. As I mentioned above, I have partnered with AvoDerm dog food and this post is sponsored. However, I did personally write this post and these opinions are mine. 🙂

  1. Great choice Jamie!Avoderm is one of the best food you can give your dog. My husband and i have had our boys on avoderm for the past 7 years. Last year our local pet store stop carrying avoderm so we were force to switch to a different brand, i notice the boys coat werent the same and didnt have that nice soft shine to it anymore. So we went back to avoderm that we order online and shipped to us monthly. We love our AVODERM!! Their shampoo and sprays are amazing as well, i am a pet groomer and love the smell the shampoo and spray leaves.
