I don’t know about you, but I really miss Married At First Sight Tuesdays! I was watching some old episodes and got to wondering what are the Season 3 cast up to these days? I got to meet all of them last year as I hosted Married At First Sight: Unfiltered. Since I got to know them pretty well I figured I’d reach out to them and see what they’re up to! (And I figured you guys probably want to know too, so I asked if I could share their updates with you, too! …You’re welcome.) 🙂

Sam Role Married At First Sight
Sam and I discussing her marriage on Married At First Sight: Unfiltered. Of course, I had to post this on my instagram!

Sam had probably the most miserable “Decision Day” and final moments in the history of MAFS. About half way through her Married At First Sight experiment she decided she liked her stranger hubby, Neil, and that she really wanted to give their marriage a shot. The last day of the experiment she sat down with her husband, Dr. Pepper, and Dr. Joseph. Together, Neil and Sam announced if they wanted to stay married or get a divorce. Sam chose to stay married, but Neil dropped a bomb and said he was done with their marriage. He chose to get a divorce. To say Sam was hysterical is an understatement. Let’s see how Sam is doing these days.
JO: How are you doing now that you and Neil are over? Has the dust settled? Are you friends still?

SR: I’m doing well. Just focusing on work and trying to get back into the swing of things in life!  The dust has settled and I’m still taking it one day at a time!  Luckily, Neil and I are still great friends! We try and meet up as much as possible and usually have a blast when we do!

JO: Any chance at a romantic connection in the future (you two were really so cute together)!

SR: I guess this one is up in the air. Takes 2 to tango so I guess we will have to wait and see…

JO: What are you working on right now?

SR: Right now I am working on some aerial moves and shows. I’m still going to Sky Gym and taking classes. I’m also working on anti-bullying campaigns. There’s more that I would like to do in the future, but I don’t want to say just yet!

JO: What do you hope for in the future?

SR: The only thing that I can hope for in the future is to find love, start a family, continue to be successful in my career, and have great health!

JO: Do you believe you’ll find love again? Will you marry again?

SR: I believe that everything happens for a reason- even if that reason doesn’t feel the best in the moment. I know I will find love. I’ve taken away so much from this experience that its only going to make me a better partner to someone.  Of course I definitely would like to marry again, but this time – for good!

JO: Any advice for those who are going through a divorce or a tough break up?

Keep your head up. It may be a painful process while you’re going through the motions, but you will gain something at the end. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Remember that you were still you before this person came into and left your life. You’ll get through it!

JO: What’s dating like since your married life was blasted across America? This has been interesting.

People approach me all the time and say how they are proud or how they really learned a lot. I was stopped by one girl at my car dealership and she had to tell me that watching Neal and I on the show with her fiancé saved their relationship. That was probably one of the best stories I’ve heard. People are kind and very respectful. Most just want a picture and think I’ll feel it’s a nuisance if they ask! I never mind taking pics with fans or listening to their story or how they perceived everything. It humbles you as a person.

JO: I see you and the gals from your season are together sometimes. Did you become good friends with them?

I speak with Vanessa often and check in on her to see how she is and she does the same. We make plans to do lunch or dinner at times. Both of us are professional business women so our work can be intense at times, but we make time for fun! I would consider her a great friend!

JO: Any fun trips or events planned for this summer?

I am going on a trip this summer! As many of you know I always leave the country on my birthday. Last year was Costa Rica and this year I’m going back to my roots – Panama! I absolutely cannot wait to go back. Ill also be going to Seattle in a few weeks and California some time later in the summer. Make sure to check social media for some great pics! 😉

Hope you guys liked this interview! If you have any questions for Sam (or the others) leave them in the “review” below. I will be doing an update on another cast member from season 3. Let me know who you’d like to hear from and what you wanna know in the reviews below. Who knows, maybe your questions will be answered! 🙂

  1. curious if david and ashley have been able to talk to each other and find closure so they can move on with their own lives considering everything that happened between them. there was so much negative media for both of them.

  2. Jamie, Just wanted to let you know I ordered your book from Amazon and it arrived today. I can’t wait to read it while relaxing on my porch tomorrow.

  3. Love Sam! Hope she’s doing well. Also, I have high hopes for a future flame between her and Neil. They were just so cute and they reminded me a lot of you and Doug! Go team #sneil

  4. I’d like to see how David is doing and if he’s found someone after the show. I’m sure a lot of people saw how genuine he really was and tried to talk to him. Let’s see!
