Married At First Sight: The Sh!t Gets Real

How have these couples already been together a month?! Ok – 30 days down and about a bajillion days to go. But, they will be the BEST DAYS OF their LIFE. Just kidding – some of those are gonna suck. But, overall they’ll be pretttttty great! Haha

RYAN AND JACKIE
You guys know I host MAFS: Unfiltered. I met Ryan on the set of Unfiltered and I instantly loved him. He’s such a funny guy. But watching MAFS leaves me thinkin’ Ryan has some growing up to do. I totally understand having your freedom and being able to hang out with your friends as a grown man, but you’re married dude! You signed up for this! Regardless of the title – whether it’s a friend, a girlfriend, a fiancé or a wife, when you’re in a relationship you HAVE to consider the other person’s feelings. Get it together, Ryan! I know you can be a good husband AND have friendships. 🙂

Jackie has got to be the SWEETEST girl in the world. I just want her and Ryan to be in a good place – and right now he is NOT making her a priority and that is NOT COOL. There’s still time – but, I don’t know. I’m a little concerned for them with decision day in just a few weeks…

JEPHTE & SHAWNIECE
These two have come such a long way. I don’t want to jinx it, but I think Jephte has finally stopped calling Shawniece a stranger. PROGRESS, PEOPLE! Now – I can honestly say I’m not a fan of pet names, but these two GOT ME. Of course Jephte would brush it off, but Shawniece had the best answer:

“I’ll give you papa bear. Cuz you is my dadddyyy.” HIL-ARIOUS. Shawniece is so cute. I love seeing them laugh together. Proud of Jephte for stepping up and OPENING up. Woo hoo!!!

We were basically doing great until the the cell phone challenge….more on that later.

JON & MOLLY
So – their friendship is really great. They seem to have a lot to talk about and the communication seems to be there. I know Jon is dying to be more physically intimate with Molly, but I’m tellin’ ya – this stuff takes time. I am self admittedly the Queen of taking your time!

I feel like both Jon and Molly have valid points in their relationship when they discuss the rating Molly gave their marriage. She needs to take time for herself, but Jon is so eager to make the relationship work that he is willing to give up EVERYTHING if that’s what it takes. Jon’s got some fight in him, and I appreciate that. But, he has to also understand where Molly is coming from. He pulled the sex card which was pretty freakin’ low — like dude…let her take as long as she needs! No one said marriage would be easy! That’s for darn sure.

CHECKIN’ IN WITH DR. JESSICA
I love love love that the girls get together and the guys get together throughout the season. NO ONE can ever imagine what it’s like to get married at first sight – sometimes you can feel really alone when things aren’t going the way you hope in your relationship. Having this support system is HUGE and I love that they can talk stuff out together. I wonder what I would have rated my relationship with Doug after 1 month? I’m sure it was a 10 out of 10, babe! (Not at all actually – but let’s pretend. Lol.)

THE CELL PHONE CHALLENGE
DUN.DUN.DUNNNNNN – so, ya know. At this point in my marriage, Doug knows it all, he’s seen it all, and he LOVES it all. I’m pretty much an open book. But, dang. I don’t know what I would have done only being a month into the relationship and being forced to give up my precious phone for AN HOUR. Ok, it doesn’t sound like a big deal. But, phones these days are basically like diaries! So much private information goes on in there. That exercise was TOUGH, so I don’t know if I could have done it myself. I will say – Jephte walking out was a little lame. I mean, come on dude. Don’t pout, talk it out! (Rhyme not intended there – but, it worked, right?)

Overall – these couples have come sooooo far, but still have a heck of a long way to go. What doesn’t kill ya makes ya stronger, so my advice is to stick with it, give it all you got, and see what happens! After the cell phone debacle, who knows what’s in store for next week. These experts are pulling out all the stops and they mean business!
